At SEK Austral International School, the health and well-being of our students are a priority. For this reason, we place great importance on prevention, care, and the promotion of healthy habits within our educational community.
STUDENT HEALTH RECORD
Upon enrollment, all families must complete a health record containing relevant information to ensure appropriate, individualized care for each student.
This document must be kept up to date throughout the student’s time at the school. It is the family’s responsibility to promptly report any relevant medical history, such as allergies, medical conditions, treatments, restrictions, or health issues requiring special supervision or care.
The School Nursing Office may periodically request updates to this information as needed.
ADMINISTRATION OF MEDICATION
If a student needs to receive medication during the school day, the family must provide the student’s tutor and the Nursing Office with the relevant medical instructions and a written request.
The documentation must clearly indicate:
Name of the medication.
Prescribed dosage.
Time and frequency of administration.
Duration of treatment, where applicable.
Medications must be sent in their original packaging, properly labeled, with clearly visible information regarding the name, dosage, and expiration date.
For safety reasons, medications, vitamins, or supplements lacking proper backing and authorization will not be administered; nor will loose pills or products of unverifiable origin be accepted.
Furthermore, students must not keep medications or supplements in their possession, backpacks, or lockers, except in exceptional situations previously reported to and authorized by the school based on the student’s specific needs.
HEALTH PREVENTION AND PROMOTION
In addition to the daily care and support provided to our students, the Nursing Office contributes to health promotion through preventive measures, guidance, and educational activities aimed at the school community. It also coordinates and monitors vaccination processes under the National Immunization Program, in accordance with the guidelines and schedules established by the health authority.
